SRI-LANKA 2000 KANDY

Dear Intercessor partners,

Our team has just came back from Sri-Lanka with good news. What a joy when good news are a continuation of the preaching of the Good News! As you could have read it in our previous messages, this campaign was burning of action from the Spirit and I am short of qualifiers to describe you the intense moments that we have lived. Messages of discouragement around the project of this campaign didn't lack.
Some said that it was unthinkable to hold a campaign in the open air to Kandy, the religious capital of Sri-Lanka, the Jerusalem of the buddhist world.

The repeated storms and torrential rains caused the biggest skepticism among some. The inhabitants of Kandy said: " If there is not a storm and if it doesn't rain during this evangelist's campaign, we will believe in his God ! " The vigil of the first day of the campaign, we were going on the Bogambara stadium with all the intercessors to pray when a storm of a terrible violence started. One member of the team prophesied and declared that the Lord would sustain the heavens with his hand and that it would not rain on the ground of the campaign. Bad climatic conditions would have been catastrophic.

The next morning, the sun was on the city and in the evening, at 5 o'clock pm, at the time of the beginning of the first meeting, the sky began to grow dark. A storm was brewing. During the preaching, I saw the looks of a good part of the auditorium to turn to the sky. The teams of intercessors prayed 24 hours on 24 ! Then, all the crowd noted that the clouds passed around us and there wasn't any drop of rain. People came to testify that rains fell to several kilometers from the campaign. We lived this time of grace every evening of the campaign, Hallelujah!

The day which followed the campaign, at 17 sharp, a storm rumbled and the sky releases cloudburst. Do you know that many believed simply thanks to this phenomenon. There was really a sign in the sky! The Buddhist priest opposition, as for it, didn't have any effect.

These priests had recourse to the lie and the calumny, covering our posters with placards declaring that I had AIDS and that my Tamul interpreter was a terrorist coming from India. Nevertheless the numerous miracles reduced to nothing all their tentatives of discouragement of the population. The Good News of the reality of Jesus spread like a fire!

The city was shaken by the power of God. God doesn't give his Glory to a man nor a religion. He glorify his Son by the power of signs, wonders and the miracles accomplished by the Holy spirit. The Authorities were very favorable to our initiative giving us all authorizations, assuring us of their protection.

The army was present all around the stadium. A good number of soldiers raised their hand at the time of the appeal to salvation. The attaché to the ministry of defence, the minister of health received us in their offices and wanted to hear the gospel and to pray for. The minister of the health even said that if a campaign took place in the capital the next year, he would organize a meeting with Mrs. the President of the Sri-lanka.

The pastor Ronnie, coordinator of the campaign keeps contact with us by e-mail and in his latest news, he confirmed me that the "Follow-Up " operation continued since the last day of the campaign. This operation consist to visit the thousand of people who have filled the decision's cards. This campaign was not a massive meeting of christians. More than 90% of the auditorium were constituted of no - christian, buddhist, moslem, and hindu. The follow - up work is huge, but are we going to complain because the nets break.

Blessed be the Lord for the revival in Kandy, for this campaign without precedent. Currently, the local churches organize campaigns of evangelism in premises. Teams go in villages to organize house meetings. The committee decided to organize each year a massive open air campaign. This same committee wants to unite with " Hope and Deliverance Asia " to reach Colombo the administrative capital. Our objective has been reached, by the campaign and the seminary: " To light the fire of the offensive evangelism! ".

All the local churches from 20 different denominations worked hand in hand for the advancement of God's Kingdom in the nation. Their goal is not to save their organization, but they want to unite to save the nation ! The Lord said that he will build his church. Let's pray for this Sri-Lakan Church, active and enterprising. Let's pray so that the peace comes in this country torn by the war since 22 years. In the evening of our departure, when we were going to the airport, the army was in the street, automatic weapon by hand. 1000 soldiers of the regular army had just been killed in the north by the " tigers ".

The only solution for this country, it is that the prince of peace, Jesus comes to establish in this nation his reign of peace.
